Every movement begins with a turning point. For Ibrahim Byakika, that moment arrived not with a trophy lifted on a soccer field, but in the quiet surrender to God's call after a life-changing injury. Once a driven semi-professional athlete, Ibrahim's journey led him through both triumph and adversity. In 2016, after dedicating his life to Jesus Christ, he encountered a deeper calling - one that reached far beyond personal accomplishments. When a head injury brought his competitive playing days to an end, Ibrahim found renewed purpose in service. Trusting that God works through each season, he embraced a new mission: to use every gift and lesson from his sporting journey to uplift others in need. In 2018, World For Life Inc was born from this conviction.

It began with a vision to serve children and families overlooked by both circumstance and society, first in Uganda's Busoga region, then in the heart of Metro Detroit. Ibrahim's story is not only about resilience, but also about obedience to God's voice leading him to "give lives a meaning." Today, his example inspires our holistic approach - addressing the needs of the body, mind, and spirit - and fuels a growing family of supporters committed to transforming communities through faith in action. Ibrahim's portrait stands here as a reminder that true leadership often grows out of the willingness to be led by God and to serve others with humility, love, and conviction.

WFL Ambassadors
World For Life Ambassadors are missionaries called to serve within the mission fields where World For Life is working, strengthening communities and advancing the work of the Gospel among those in need.
Ambassadors serve by living closely connected to the work, caring for vulnerable children, strengthening families, supporting community development, and helping cultivate communities where the Gospel is lived out and the Kingdom of God becomes visible in everyday life. They serve alongside local leaders and communities, both in the United States and internationally.
Service with World For Life often begins through short-term mission trips or partnership opportunities that allow individuals to experience the work firsthand. Those who sense a continuing call may pursue the path of serving in full-time missionary through World For Life as an Ambassador.
